Get in Touch with Us
We understand that navigating special education can feel overwhelming. At the Hynes Education Advocacy Group, we're here to provide clarity, support, and expert guidance. Whether you're new to the process or seeking renewed advocacy, reaching out is the first step towards ensuring your child receives the education they deserve. We primarily welcome new families and individuals via email or by filling out our quick contact form.
When you first reach out, what helps us most?
You do not need to know special education law or have everything perfectly organized.
But a few key details help us quickly understand your situation and guide you thoughtfully.
Here is what is most helpful to know right away:
1️⃣ Your child’s current status
Does your child have an IEP or 504 plan?
Have they been evaluated?
Are they currently under review or scheduled for a meeting?
This helps us understand where you are in the process.
2️⃣ Your primary concern
What feels most urgent right now?
Academic progress?
Behavior or discipline?
Eligibility for services?
Placement?
Social or emotional support?
An upcoming CSE meeting?
Knowing your biggest concern helps us focus immediately.
3️⃣ Any upcoming deadlines or meetings
If you have a scheduled CSE, CPSE, manifestation meeting, or disciplinary hearing, timing matters.
We prioritize situations where decisions are imminent.
4️⃣ Relevant documents (if available)
Helpful, but not required:
Most recent IEP or 504 plan
Evaluation reports
School correspondence
If you don’t have these yet, that’s okay — we will guide you.
5️⃣ What you feel isn’t working
Sometimes the most important detail isn’t in a document. It’s what you’re noticing:
Your child’s frustration
Lack of progress
School avoidance
Increased anxiety
Communication breakdowns
Your lived experience matters.
Most important of all
You do not need to come to us fully prepared. If something feels off, that is reason enough to reach out. Our role is to help you move from uncertainty to clarity — and from overwhelm to confidence.
What happens after you contact HEAG?
When you reach out, you can expect a calm, organized process — not confusion.
Timely response
We review your message carefully and respond within 1–2 business days. If your situation involves an upcoming meeting or urgent timeline, we prioritize accordingly.
Initial free 15 minute consultation
Our first step is a focused phone or virtual consultation. During this conversation, we will:
Listen carefully to your concerns
Ask clarifying questions
Review where you are in the process
Identify any immediate deadlines
Explain your rights in plain language
This is not a rushed call. It is a thoughtful conversation designed to understand your child and your goals.
Document review (if applicable)
If you have an IEP, evaluation, 504 plan, or correspondence, we may request copies so we can review them before offering strategic recommendations. Preparation is key.
Clear next steps
After reviewing your situation, we will outline:
Whether advocacy support is appropriate
What level of involvement makes sense
What preparation is needed
What you can expect moving forward
We are transparent about scope, expectations, and process.
Ongoing support
If you choose to move forward with HELP, we work collaboratively with you to:
Prepare for meetings
Clarify goals and services
Strengthen communication with the school
Focus on student-centered outcomes
What you will not experience
Pressure
Alarmist language
Unnecessary escalation
Confusing legal jargon
Our goal is steady guidance, clear communication, and thoughtful advocacy.
Most families tell us that after the first conversation, they feel:
More informed.
More grounded.
Less alone.
That is where progress begins.
Common questions or worries
It's completely normal to have questions or concerns before reaching out. Here are some common worries we hear:
"Is my child's situation 'serious enough' for an advocate?"
If you feel something is off, or if your child isn't thriving, that's enough reason to contact us. We help with a wide range of situations, from initial concerns to complex disputes.
"Do I need to be an expert in special education law?"
Absolutely not! Our role is to guide you through the complexities of IDEA and state laws. You don't need to know the jargon; we'll translate it for you.
"What if i don't have all my child's documents ready?"
Don't worry. While helpful, having all documents upfront isn't required. We can help you gather what's needed as we go, or work with the information you have available.
"What are the costs involved?"
We offer an initial free 15-minute consultation to understand your needs. After that, we are transparent about our service fees, ensuring you understand the value and scope of our partnership.
