Empowering Families through Expertise and Empathy
At the Hynes Education Advocacy Group, we combine over 55 years of public education experience with the lived reality of raising a child with disabilities. This unique blend allows us to truly understand your journey, providing unparalleled support and strategic guidance to navigate the complex world of special education.

Unlocking the System from within
Our team brings decades of experience as teachers, principals, district curriculum leaders, and superintendents. We understand how CSE decisions are made, how districts interpret IDEA, FAPE, and LRE, and how budgets influence service delivery. This internal knowledge allows us to guide families strategically, offering insights into school operations that others can't.

Navigating challenges, living the journey
Beyond our professional roles, we are parents raising a daughter with Down syndrome. We've personally navigated SYIIT, CPSE, CSE, IEP meetings, and the emotional weight that comes with every decision. We've sat on both sides of the table, understanding the vulnerability, fear, and protectiveness parents feel. Our empathy is not theoretical – it is lived.

Turning uncertainty into confidence
Parents often feel overwhelmed by jargon, fear conflict, and worry their child isn't getting what they need. HEAG Advocates bring clarity by explaining the system in plain language, prepare families strategically to organize concerns and anticipate responses, and prioritize collaboration to protect relationships while safeguarding rights. We also empower youth to speak up for themselves.
"You are not alone in this process. At the Hynes Education Advocacy Group, we want families to feel understood, prepared, supported, and confident. Most of all, we want you to feel hopeful."
